About the event
Consensual Non-monogamy is gaining popularity within the past 10 years. Publications of The Ethical Slut (Easton & Liszt, 1997, 2009 and 2017) and Polysecure (Fern, 2020), podcasters and influencers have helped offer support around communication norms, safety practices, and forming secure attachment with more than one person. Yet, service providers such as mental health professionals and therapists receive very little (if any) training regarding the interpersonal needs, cultural stigma and systemic barriers polyamorous people face.
Asha Gozzelin, LMSW is offering this 2.5 CEU Polyamory 101 Training as a person with lived experience of consensual nonmonogamy for 10+ years, a poly-affirming therapist and Tree of Hope Counseling affiliate. This training will offer people across a variety of setting the foundational knowledge in language and cultural considerations for working with:
Polyamorous individuals facing mental health challenges including anxiety, trauma, depression and systemic marginalization (racism, homophobia/ transphobia, ableism, etc).

When people choose this rate, they are paying the "regular rate" for the service. The sustainable rate covers the cost of providing the service in a way that is sustainable for us as providers (people with varied privileges and access/care needs), and as a practice (a business that prioritizes the intentional and ethical building of community wellness over the building of individual wealth).

When people choose this rate, they are engaging with a system of mutual aid and accessing community wealth. The accessible rate is below the cost of providing the service, for people with less access to financial resources. We believe that access to self-knowledge and affirming spaces is a human right, and should not be restricted by access to financial resources.
